Change Is a Comin!

My school is going through a lot of changes going from making new rules to changing - new requirements for testing - new uniforms!

Last nite was awesome at the middle of the advanced class the instructor told us to go get our staffs so I bowed out & got it as I reentered with a bow I did noticed that some ppl were looking at my totally cool staff. We were just warming up & there wasn’t any part of the warm up that was a big changllen intill later. After we were all done. He asked everyone & I told him I knew 1-5 & just the very beginning of it plus I demonstrated it for him cause he asked to see it.

So I got most of the stuff that they were doing then at one point he asked me to join the other 2 in the back of the class who were just spinning the staff in form 1.

After class I was approached & asked a question from a lower belt so I answered his question & we talked about the new testing requirements. In which I almost flipped out about it cause it showed that I had to do 11 of the yellow belt techniques & a few weeks before all this started to happened the PSBN Joe told me that I just had to do 1-5. So afterwards I asked one of the 3 instructors if this new requirements are in effect now or after my next testing? Which he told me it would be for the next one. Now my stress level is like a 8 vs. above a 10!

I still don’t know all the stances & I do know some of the strikes & just need to learn about 3 for the kicks! I know ahp cha ki / yup cha ki / dee cha ki but I can’t say them the right way thought.

Good EX : i knew & still know the student creed but last time when i was in my testing & i felt all eyes on me (which i found out later was true) my mind when totally blank on me! Then the instructor just said one word of the starting creeds ( which there is 3) asfter that i was totally fine! BUt i don't know about this new part of the testing in which i will be testing in about a month an 3 weeks!!!!

Stress Level

Right now im tightening my belt & getting down to business on learning what I need to know to pass my testing in September. My stress level was at a 10 but now its like at 8 ½ now cause my PSBN Instructor told me that I only have to know 1-5 Sohn Mohk Soo to pass. Then he had me do my Ki Cho Hyung in the right stance!!! It took me awhile to get it all done all 6 plus I went ahead & did the yellow belt form as well. After I was done he told me that this would be on my test as well & now my stress level is at a 9! OMG!!!

1st Time Sparring!

I though that it was going to be very painful & all but i was soo wrong. I guess i was in the thinking mode of the worst case scenario. But when they would be just teaching us basic sparring its totally different from grappling but this is more fast pace! & for one I get out of breath very easy! But I beared through the class & listened to the instructors on what they had to say as of advice & teaching wise for me as a newie to sparring!!! I was just a tad bit nervous & all. But the overall I did great for a 1st timer!!! Im real good at the kicks then the punching but as time goes on I will get better at it. But one thing that I have noticed is I have a killer kick but I just got to learn how to use it in sparring as well as other kicks too! Plus condition it as well!!

Me Teaching OMG!!!!

Tuesday nite I drove to class like normal went in & started doing my regular routine which is put my bag in a cubbie hole & got out my scrunchie & pulled my hair had in a ponytail then took my hair band & put it on. Then I would put my jacket on next & was I was tying the inside tie & noticed I had my pants on inside out! OMG!!! So I walked causally to the women’s restroom & put them on correctly ( on the right side)! So I was waiting for my other fellow yellow belt to come in but there wasn’t any of them that showed up by the time 8:15 rounded around. So I knew almost all do the 4 white belts that were there that nite. SO I go into class like usual warmed up just by running around the practice area. & after we were done with our regular warm ups after doing a light jog he spilt up the class & all the white belts came over & so did I & he was arranging every one & he told me to come to the front center X & of course like usual I didn’t know what was going on intill he told us & he asked me if I knew all my white belt forms & I responded yes sir! Then it hit me that I was going to teach them all the forms or just 1 or 2 so I was a little nervous cause he was watching us well more me then them!!!! All in all I did ok guiding or instructing them. & after class was let out he came over to me & asked me how I liked it. & I told him something like this : It was ok or something like that. He told me not to be shy & that I did great!!!!

Bo Staff

2 weeks ago I asked my sensei when I could order my Bo Staff . He said I could order it anytime! So what I like to do is always ask or double check with my sensei before I go ordering something. But that’s just me lol. As he was talking to me another question popped into my mind so I asked him. I though I would have to wait intill im a blue belt to order my bo staff. He told me that is just for the kids. Its kinda funny that im the only yellow belt that has a bo staff. I guess that one Saturday morning class when he saw me spinning the bo staff & saw the potential that I had plus my background ability to spin different things – baton , twirling flags, & of course the big push broom that something when outside & bored when sweeping leafs would spin that big thing around. Well last Thursday I got my Bo Staff in the mail via UPS . It’s the most beautiful bo staff ive ever saw! But it’s the fanciest in my class cause others just have plain ones 7 others have the rattan bo staff that have the starry design on it. My bo staff is kinda heavy I guess a medium heaviness .

I just can’t wait to bring it to class!!! Yahooo!!! Yea!

PUT ON THE SPOT

Tuesday nite at class ( techniques & forms)  my sensei divided up the class which were white belts & yellow belts come with me & blue belts & up go to the other side of the practice area. So the minority of the class was all white belts & of course 2 yellow belts. So he placed me in the front row . We were doing the warm ups that we always do then HE made me count in Korean 1-10!!! OMG I think I actually said double words but then again after I was finished counting he said good job Lu. So I guess I actually counted in Korean right. Yea!!! Then after doing some more warm ups he left the dojan & told me to continue &  like froze up! But I had the group keep rotating their ankles then strengthening it out. When he walked back in he told me good job Lu. & continued the warm ups. Then he put me on the spot again! He told me to do a round house kick. & of course I did an outside kick. Then I did a round house kick! For some reason I keep getting those 2 kicks mixed up! OMG!!! Plus I refreshen on the 1st form of Cho Geup Hyung. The class was fun!!! Ever since I have passed my testing for my yellow belt all I want to do is go to class 24 \ 7 !!!!
