I just can't believe that i ''self-injured " myself just by doing a left inside kick last Friday nite in Kuk Sool!!! Plus thats not the worst thing that happened that nite either!!! It happened after we did our warm ups & then it happened when we were doing our kicks!!! After all that kicking drills PSBN was telling us what we were going to do that nite & where we were to go but I was drowning all that out & focusing on my injured hand. Evaluate the damage that was done & see how bad it was also thinking about a plan to get through the class since that nite was techniques & forms! As i was looking at it & feeling the swollen palm & vein that seemed to ( to me) poped out of place in which was totally werid looking & disgusting !!! But it didn't look that bad but after i finished the class u can see the vein it was raised up & it was burised too! like purpleish & blackish & blueish!!!
So we were paired up or I was paired up with William the little hyper dude! LOL so the PSBN told us that techniques to start working on. So William grips my wrist / hand real tight! Im like “ don’t grip my hand that tight my hand is injured!”
We were doing Sohng Mohk Soo !!! I got through the class! But now my palm & vein are healed!

Fake Nails In KSW??
Im just wondering if anyone out there that is in Kuk Sool Won that had wore ( or is wearing) fake nails in class & was able to do everything like u could if u didn’t have them on. The only reason why im asking this is because I would like to get my nails done for my birthday but like a week before. Is it a totally bad idea to do so because I wouldnt like to hurt myself if we were doing takedowns ~ falls ~ rolls ~ Jump rolls ~ grappling etc??? Anyone have advice on this???

Creativity In Kuk Sool Won
So I finally turned in my dobok or my jacket for the patches to be sewn on to the it! I got the last set of the old patches yippee!!! See the school is now wearing the new ones but in my terms I don’t really like them at all no offense or anything!! ( even though they are to make the school to stand out above all the other Kuk Sool Won Schools. But I know for Christmas I will be getting a new dobok & the patches ( new ones) work too!! The instructors told us that when our doboks or jackets are being worked on or if its too hot we will have to wear a black t-shirt. They don’t mind any design as long as its not religious So while my dobok is being worked on I decided to design a few t-shirts ok well 6 of them! I love designing t-shirts!!! Its just one of my other things that I do! They are very cute ! I can’t wait intill tonite when I go to class!!! Im gonna be wearing the Kuk Sool Won Princess one that I designed last nite. Well I designed all of them during Tuesday but later that nite I actually went to work on it. It didn’t take me about one hour to do it that’s because I was using a sharpie !!! But for my other ones im gonna go to hobby lobby & get some fabric pens or something better then the sharpies! Cause I don’t know if they are going to fade in the wash! But how many times am I actually going to wear them??? Well we will see what happens & if in deed they fade I will go & get some fabric pens & just go over that I had already done with the sharpie!

Unforgettable Yellow Belt Blue Stripe Testing!
The Nite before I was practicing all the things that I thought was going to be on the test . After I finished previewing my ki bohn soo & sohn mohk soo I went into my white belt forms & was fine all intill the last one! I tend to over kick & sometimes miss the target completely (aka my hand!) but this time I hit my knuckle joins & man did that hurt!! But I still did my final form which was my yellow belt form The testing wasn’t as hard or as bad as I thought it would be! I thought PSBN Joe was going to drill me on the terminology part of the test! There was only one thing that I got half right. But what really killed my brain in the testing was the Ki Bohn Soo’s !!! I knew all of them I studied hard core all last week even the nite before I did a overview of everything I though was going to be on the test! I did all the Ki Bohn Soo’s right but when I was in the testing my mind is blanketed on me as well as froze up too!!! He told me that I can miss 3 but I if I miss 4 or more then I can still go through the testing but would have to reschedule it for next’s months testing. So im thinking oh boy! So I started & I knew that I missed about 3 or more but he allowed me to do them in order & I only missed about 2! Plus I did all my sonh mohk soo’s perfect! Then he surprised me by telling me Miss Lu now do a front hand spring & I can remember saying out loud oh boy!
But I gave it my best! We also did Dee Nak Bob with a back shoulder roll outs as well as front rolls, kicks, pyramid kicking , cartwheels _ He also surprised me with Miss Lu now do 3 one handed cartwheels –( im not that great at them but like the front hand spring I gave it my best!)& forms. It was weird that my instructor told me that I would only have to do the first part of the yellow form but another time he said the whole thing. So when I did my yellow form there was this one small part in it that I didn’t get but after that small part I knew the rest of the form so I made up my mind the nite before that I would just make up a move then go on with the rest of the form & that’s what I did!
But the fun part was when I had to spar ! There was this other guy there which he was small & not as tall as I am! I had such an awesome time sparring with him!!! I did some awesome kicks as well as a spin kick! But the funniest thing was that he didn’t have the gear & had to use some of the schools gear which the gloves were PINK yes I said PINK I was laughing off my head even though I had my mouth guard in! lol plus I got it on video too which makes it even more funnier! SO everything was over & PSBN Joe told us to take off our jackets & fold it up the traditional way which I never was teach at all since I started Kuk Sool Won! But I did get a lesson that day. So I took it off trying to remember that one day when I was waiting for the kids class to get out. They were teaching them how to fold up their jackets the traditional way. SO I started to make it the way I remembered that day. SO the other guy starts copying what im doing. Then PSBN Joe comes out of the office & was helping hem with the jacket & im trying to watch as well as do it too! So I finally got it. Then he did the ceremony & now I am a yellow belt blue stripe!!!

Yellow Belt - Last Day
This is the last day that i will be a yellow belt just looking back on my yellow belt training even though it was just like a 4 month period. There were some good moments , Funny moments & some times of feeling like giving up but always pressing on! Even though I would say that I feel like giving up but in my heart I know I will press on even though some times might seem tough & rough to the point were I don’t think I can make it through!

Pre-Test Thoughts
Well there I am again panicky studying out my heart again at the last minute! I tell ya its been one of the most craziest couple of weeks before my testing! So had that I forgot everything but even though I had come to training last week it seemed to me like I wasn’t all there due to a situation that I was in & those of you how do know knew what I went through!
But im preparing the best that I can prepare myself for the test this Saturday!
The one thing that I can’t find out is how to say uniform in Korean for Kuk Sool Won = Dobok !
Do ya know how to say it????
I feel like im buggin my instructor a lot but im glad im asking all of these questions cause im finding out more & more requirements that are going to take place in my testing!!! OMG!!!!
So I did a little research ( correct me if im wrong ) & found out that the reason why we wear black uniforms is because in Korea white represents / associated with death.
I also found out that our uniforms are much stronger than TKD but lighter than Judo!
I found out of this out on this website : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuk_Sool_Won
Now The other question that remains unanswered as of right now is this :
Kuk Sool Won translates is National Martial Arts Association or is it Korean National Arts Association. Which one is the right one??
